Civil War Free Dance Class

Movie Night--showing "Lincoln" for the Spring Literary Arts Festival 2013
Submitted by site_admin on 3/6/13 - 10:26 amThe library and the Friends of the Library will host a special movie night for the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War in the meeting room of the library at 6:30 p.m., showing Lincoln, Steven Spielberg's film that chronicles the final four months in the life of Abraham Lincoln (starring Daniel Day-Lewis), regarded as America's greatest President. This film is rated PG and runs for 2 1/2 hours with one 10-minute intermission. The Friends of the Library will provide light refreshments.
American Civil War Choral Concert
Submitted by site_admin on 2/19/13 - 2:28 pmThe Vinton County Women’s Chorus will perform a musical selection of spirituals, hymns, and popular parlor and battle songs from the American Civil War era on Sunday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity Episcopal Church in McArthur. This concert is part of the Spring Literary Arts Festival, “North and South: A House Divided,” a commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War and is free to the public.
